Healthcare Leadership Systems (HLS) came out of a passion to make the NHS the best that it can be. Over 18 year's experience of working with, leading and managing GP practices had Susan Paul set up a niche consultancy that specialises in supporting GP's and the future of General Practice. Susan and her partners in the First 4 Health Group, run a super practice operating across 4 sites; Church Road Health (Formerly E12 Health); Stratford Village Surgery; Leytonstone Road Medical Centre and Cumberland Medical Centre. The First 4 Health Group employs over 90 staff and serves approx 33,000 patients in East London.
In 2010 E12 Health won the HSJ healthcare 100 award being ranked the 24th best healthcare organisation (across all categories) to work for in the UK. It has also been a GP Training Practice for 18 years.
In April 2018 First 4 Health Group - Church Road Health was rated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as being outstanding in the 'Well Led' Category.
In 2019, was nominated for a Health Service Journal (HSJ) Value Award.
Ms Susan Paul
Susan Paul is a Employment Law Specialist Solicitor with over 30 years management and legal experience. She was an Employment Law Judge for over 5 years. As an ex litigator, former Judge, CEDR Accredited Mediator and AoEC Accredited Executive Leadership Coach & Mentor she has the skill, knowledge and motivation to support Legal, NHS organisations, medical partnerships and their teams to resolve conflict.
Susan has managed GP practices for 18 years and specialises in supporting practices to develop the leadership potential of their existing staff teams. She provides coaching and active management support to practices and other health organisations that actively wish to capitalise on the opportunities that are available in the NHS.
As a solution to the ever-increasing problems she faced managing multiple sites in a constantly changing CQC and KPI landscape, she developed OneRoom™ a cloud-based IT management solution to help reduce quality variation across different sites and support the practice management systems required in order to expand seamlessly over different sites and take on the management of new sites at short notice.
Susan is also a Leader In Residence and a member of the Advisory Board to the University of Leeds Business School. She is a recipient of Leeds University Vice Chancellor's Leadership Award.
She works with Dr Bhupinder Kohli, an experienced GP Leader and trainer with an interest in primary care IT, informatics and health intelligence. He is the Group Medical Director of the First 4 Health Group.
